Need help to keep your pet?
We often run across pet guardians that want the best for their pet and want to be able to keep their pet but can't afford medical treatment. Bark'N Good Time has been in rescue for many years and thus gets a lot of useful information that we like to share. Below is a list of resources that might be useful to those needing a little extra help. Some families don't realize that there are options that can be looked into prior to deciding to rehome based on finances. We hope this helps:
Reduced & Subsidized Veterinary Fees:
Cats in Crisis, Inc.: Provides financial assistance to help with diagnosing, treating and maintaining cats with special medical needs. http://www.catsincrisis.org
Feline Veterinary Emergency Assistance Program: Provides assistance to cat/kitten guardians who are unable to afford veterinary services to save their companions when life-threatening illness/injury strikes. Focus on seniors, people w/ disabilities, people who have lost their job, Good Samaritans

Goldstock Fund: Provides funds to rescue organizations or individuals to pay for transportation, boarding, evaluations and medical costs of golden retrievers and golden hearted dogs taken into rescue. Also supports other breeds of dogs in rescue situations. http://www.goldstockfund.org
In Memory Of Magic: Emergency and chronic vet care assistance. Allows owners to fundraise for their pets’ care via their website. Also has limited funds for emergencies, blind dogs, diabetic pets, and those with chronic renal failure. http://www.imom.org
LabMed: Will provide monetary assistance toward emergency medical expenses for Labrador Retrievers who are abandoned or in a rescue situation and for whom no other funding is available or is insufficient. http://www.labmed.org
The Pet Fund: Provides financial assistance to owners of domestic animals who need urgent veterinary care. Also provides information about preventative care, pet insurance programs, and financial services that will ensure that pet owners are able to develop financial resources on their own and thus avoid future emergencies through care and planning. United Animal Nations Life Line Grant:
Provides funding to Good Samaritans, animal rescuers, non-profit organizations, and pet owners to provide care for animals in life-threatening situations. (916) 429-2457; http://www.uan.org
